The pilot did a wingover and vertical dive after the tandem, the last jumpers, left the plane. Not unusual, but the pilot lost track of where the tandem was and almost hit them. The drogue is used to stabilize the tandem in freefall. The bridle is about 10-12 ft long. The plane's wing hit it. That's how close the plane came to hitting the tandem. It apparently did no damage because the tandem landed under the main, not the reserve canopy. A very close call, and the tandem master no doubt had a serious discussion with the pilot after he landed. Nothing at all stupid about the female not noticing. It would have been far more surprising if she had.

Larry got it spot on. I have had many jumpships 'follow' me down after exit...but thankfully never that close! Usually the pilots turn 90 degrees to the jump run as they dive, and it looks spectacular, but it looks like this one did a 180 and came back at the jumpers. Tandem master obviously shaken as he dumped out immediately after it happened and had a very long canopy ride. Amazing video...just glad they are all safe.

I think the plane they jumped from cut the 1st parachute so he had to use his back up one.
