Im openly bi, and naturally I dont feel particularly uncomfortable around other LGBT people. But from experience, most of those that do are generally ignorant of what LGBT people are really like. Theyre force fed misinformation and outright lies by ultra conservatives and religion. Now Im not saying LGBT people shouldnt be affectionate with their partners in public, and by all means, camp it up to 11 for Pride But a lot of LGBT people seem to go out of their way to offend the ignorant and intolerant, and rub it in their faces. And that is just not cricket.The ignorant and intolerant need to do some learning and socializing. But my LGBT brothers and sisters need to learn to tone it down and not throw more fuel on the fire.

In the past, only people who went to jail and gang members got facial tattoos. Also, facial tattoos are sometimes associated with "dumb and trashy poor", and at least for businesses could be a red flag for someone that could be a poor employee. Tattoos have been a symbol of anti-social attitudes, and or as a signal for someone to easily be stereotyped. The same thing was once true of arm tattoos. The stereotype has some roots in the past, but as with any stereotype is a crappy form of discrimination. Of course all that has been changing, especially as people of all types are getting tattoos. But most high paying jobs (AKA jobs that require college degrees) won't often accept people who have face tattoos due to stigma or tradition. Which means that they earn less generally speaking, which goes to the stereotype of "uneducated not privileged from birth = stupid"

I'm now a software developer and still no one cares. I think the idea that tattoos may hinder professional growth is an outdated one.
