I find tattoos ugly and immature especially on the hands I like seeing skin, not scribbles, and what would seem like a rash from afar. These people who have tattoos aren't even what you consider "tough". They even look more pathetic on rappers and celebrities, their toughness is zero! I don't care if you need one to remember someone's name, seriously? What are you five? And oh, it's a way to express myself, like since everyone has a tattoo nowadays, that becomes a fallacy. What happens when your skin starts sagging and you have all these ugly markings?

@UN242 Explorer I think the fantasy of being special and unique and important and heroic, is complicated by living in a culture that celebrates those values. Were constantly bombing other countries in order to preserve our freedom, which presumably means individuality. But at the same time, our culture is intensely conformist. You have businesses constantly trying to imprint a brand on the public awareness. So, for example, if youre tattooing some nitwit clich from a pop tune, like Ill love you forever, or Dont be an imitator or something, in effect youre branding yourself with industrial entertainment, because music groups, as we know, are basically money-making machines, fronted by models, funded by the entertainment industry.
