There was no 'rushing' from the second guy either - it was only when the attacker became distracted by his mobile phone and stood up that he edged forward, with the bucket as a shield, and the woman was able to get up and escape. Her life was probably saved initially by her long coat that stopped the blade from penetrating far enough, and then by her husband giving his phone more attention than the job in hand.
