Actually Non-Member z, beheading was added only later to make the process more humane. But original seppuku was performed without the beheading, just a knife. Now days however the need for a human method of seppuku is so great that the knife is symbolic, the person committing seppuku is beheaded as the begin to /reach/ for the knife.
But yeah this does look fake, especially considering she died so quickly. It actually takes a bit longer than that.
